Ehh ,

to me , still a novice with the toning aspect .. but from other things I've seen called "AT" that to me looks un natural ..

Interesting looking , but dosnt seem like proper toning to me .. just MHO ..

I doubt someone messed around with proof.
Real toning in my opinion.

With au90o

After searching around online , I see alot of other proof's with the same type of toning ..

And Au90o is one guy I wouldnt doubt to know this either lol .. so he confirmed my findings also .. So please disregard My original statement ..

Alittle poking around turned up a few nice proofs with the same toning *one I found from PCGS coinfacts*

Regardless of natural or unnatural toning, it is a very good looking IH. I love a toned coin! I only collect small cents and outside of that main collection I have my toned collection where I place all my toned cents I have upgraded from. Some of them are quite amazing to me. I especially like the proofs that are toned.

No one would mess around with a really nice proof, BUT
how about a top class die struck fake, with lightly polished dies and planchet, carefully toned?

Charles M.Larson in his book 'Numismatic Forgery' show you exactly how to do it.

I can't make a serious comment on this coin, until I had it in hand for examination with my 20 x gemcutter's loupe.

On the screen, it looks quite OK.

There are those that would put a mustache on the Mona Liza painting, spray paint an advertisement on the side of a 57 Chevy Convertible, cut holes in the great wall of China for easy access to the other side. So why not AT a proof?

We all hope that no one would mess around with a really nice proof.

I tend to agree that it is the photo, and not the coin, that has had some help.
