Not sure what this would be worth and really don't know much about coins so I was hoping someone here mit know. I have a 1999 Penny thatseems to be struck wide and has the AM on the back almost touching, have seen some like this but mine appears to not be plated. Any Insight would be appreciated. Thanks

Rchristopher! Would like to see what you have, but it is hard to determine identity without photos.

easiest thing is to snap some photos so we can see what it looks like .. but the AM touching is normal , the " Wide AM" or commonly referred to as a " WAM" is what you would want to look out for .. (1999-P Wide AM being one of the rarer) .. But photos would really help with the plating questions .. again to CCF - Phil \m/

Tried to resizem the best I could (i dont have a proper program to do so) but maybe able to give someone alittle better look at'em ..
Tough for me to tell if it was removed or if it is just missing the plating ..
But I'm sure someone has seen this more then I have and would have a better idea of which it would be ..
Good luck On your hunting and Collections- Phil \m/

From the new pics, it looks like a Dryer Coin. The rolled up rim is generally diagnostic of this coin spending a lot of time in a clothes dryer.

Looks like the usual someone played with coin. By that I mean someone spent time removing the outer layer.

Someone's experiment. A keeper I'd file under "I" for Intersting PMD.

The roll over rim is often found on Dryer Coins. You can still see some copper showing under the memorial. PMD/ PSD

It looks like the plating was chemically stripped, the coin was smacked between two pieces of leather (to make it wider), and the rim was rolled over the design. It's a variation of a " Texas Cent".
