Recently I received and paid for six (6) Constantine era coins from an acquaintance in Eastern Europe. I am listing all of these coins in CCF Auction, but thought I'd give a heads up to you guys. I've never sold by lot, but think I might try on these. Has anyone here had experience selling "lots" vs individual coins?

Do you have this lot up for auction yet? I would probably consider a lot if there is some variety, or a good opportunity--such as a nicer uncleaned group.

Generally lot sales are for lesser coins that need grouping to make it worth handling or worth mailing. Some big dealers that have no interest in selling a solo $20 coin will handle a lot of ten coins for $200 which usually gets bought by a smaller dealer that will sell them individually for $40 each. We'd have to see the coins involved to say but I'd think any coin worth $10 would do better individually unless your trouble is worth more to you than the coin.

I haven't listed them just yet. I just took the photos this afternoon. In my estimation, they are very common type Constantine era coins. Some are in fair condition, while a couple are in poor condition. I haven't even attributed them. They are not coins I need or want, but I felt somewhat obligated to purchase. I paid a total of $5 each plus shipping of $3. I suppose they are worth at least that much.

Perhaps I should post the images and ask for help in attribution, then you all can see the quality, or lack thereof, of which I speak.

So let's see how fast we can attribute these coins. They are all 17mm to 20mm except the last which is 22mm:

They could make a good beginner set IMO if someone wants to get into collecting Romans. Just a thought.

Not a bad set at all. I agree, it would make a decent beginner's set with a mix of emperors.
