That's awesome! I didn't know Cracker Barrel sells those. I got mine from the Jefferson Memorial in D.C. (they also have the 1877 cent, 1913-S Type 2 nickel and the 1907 (Roman numeral) $20 piece).

Granted, mine were bought in the late 70's - but they were something like .75! I think the term (MEGA-) price gauging comes into play here.

Certainly if they could make them back then so inexpensively, out tech nowadays would be able to stamp them out for a lot cheaper. Its a lot less expensive to make masters nowadays.

It appears your coin was affected by atomic radiation in the 1950's that caused it to grow to such a large size and mutate the obverse.

For reference, please see Godzilla, Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, Tarantula and most other 1950's sci-fi film.
