I just found what I think might be a Specimen or Proof 1964 Silver dollar, which is much rarer than a proof-like version and would like to have this verified. Since I've never sent in coins for grading, I'm wondering if anyone who has sent coins to ICCS can answer a few of my questions?

1. What are their grading and return shipping fees?
2. What are their turnaround times?
3. How should I package my coins? Any specific coin flips, etc. or can I just use whatever I can find and send the coins in a padded envelope?
4. Most importantly, does anyone have a submission form for ICCS either in PDF or Word format etc.? I could put together my own but don't want to miss any information. Please let me know so I can pm you my e-mail address.

Thanks for your help!!

So no one has any info? Anyways, in addition to the above, I thought of a couple more questions I'm sure someone has the answers to:

5. Does ICCS always note varieties, errors or die rotations, etc.?
6. Does anyone know if the interior flip is made of mylar or another "safe" material that does not degrade over time? I know the exterior flip is made of vinyl that contains pvc but one would assume that the inner flip which actually holds the coin is made of a safe material...

Again, any input is greatly appreciated!

I am not familiar with ICCS rules/regulations/fees. Why not use PCGS, ANACS, or IGC? All the questions you have can be answered on the websites of those three.

LOL let's abandon the metric system, too, while we're at it!

Okay sarcasm aside, ICCS would be better at grading Canadian coins than the others listed.

That's what I thought. Also, PCGS or NGC most likely have much higher grading fees for "world coins" and ridiculous return shipping costs to Canada (~$50). Otherwise I wouldn't be particularly opposed because they're still very reliable and their holders are far superior to ICCS's. (see my concern #6 above)

There are no proof strikes for 1964,there are specimen coins. Why do you believe your coin is a specimen strike?Perhaps you could post photos of your coin in the Canadian section of this forum for opinions before you spend money to have it slabbed.
You could phone ICCS at 416-488-8620 to answer your queries about their services.
