On June 1st ebay is changing some of the requirements for those who wish to retain their Top Rated Seller rating. One of those requirements is to ship the day after receiving payment. I always set my listings up so that they finish on Saturday night. So if a buyer pays me by PayPal right after the listing ends, does this mean I'm expected to ship on Sunday - or is ebay smart enough to understand that the U.S. Postal Service doesn't work that day? I'd sure hate to get penalized just because I choose to end my listings on Saturday. Also - what if someone pays me at 11:15 PM on a Tuesday when I'm already in bed. Do I have to ship on Wednesday? Right now, I don't even bother reading emails until I get home from work at around 6:00 PM. In order to conform to ebay's new standards do I have to change my routine and make sure I check my emails before I go to work? Seems a little onerous to me... Thoughts or opinions?

This is what ebay says under the 2012 Spring Seller Update: Quote: How do you measure "one business day"? How long will I have to upload tracking? After a buyer has paid for an item, you will have until 11:59:59 pm Pacific Time the following business day to upload tracking. Weekends and holidays are not counted as business days. Here is the link to that page: http://pages.ebay.com/sellerinforma...ate.html#faq My guess would be that that if your auctions end on Saturday, and they pay on Saturday, then you have until the end of the next business day (Monday at 11:59PM) to print a shipping label.

Personally I would drop by the post office and ship them on sunday to make sure. Its much easier to lose a TS rating than to keep it. Or use the ebay shipping labels that automatically upload the tracking. As long as theres a tracking number provided the next day you could mail it out monday and not have to worry about it

Post Offices are open on Sunday where you live? Heck, our lobby isn't even open on Sunday.

The post office workers arent there, but yea the lobby is open for the people with the mail boxes and theres an automated machine where we can print labels to ship and drop off packages to go out first thing on monday.

Just so everyone knows, they require that TRACKING information be uploaded within 24 hours (on business days). That doesn't mean it has to be shipped by then. To me, there is a difference. I have two ebay accounts, and one I'm a top rated seller on. The other, I'll get there with time. On my other one, I just print the shipping labels from Friday after 5PM to Sunday (to be safe), then drop them off on Monday. There has been no issue so far, and I'm at 100% tracking uploaded. In theory (although I wouldn't try it) you could print out shipping labels all week, then just ship them out Friday, and still be within ebay's requirements. The customers wouldn't be happy, but I'm just explaining what you COULD do.
