I felt embarrassed providing photos of my coins to him, considering his skill with coin photography, but I admired his taste in the coins he chose, which were mostly raw, red-brown to brown coins (not certified). I just cannot figure out why Canadian collectors would rather have an ugly Red-Brown ICCS MS-64 or MS-65, than a beautiful MS-63 with nearly perfect surfaces and nice lustre shining through the brown patina... I guess beauty is in the eye of the coin-holder... These are from that collection we discussed elsewhere. The type of lighting used for those last completely fails to illustrate what I'm looking at with the fields on these. The following set is lit axially, and offers at least a hint at what I'm trying to capture. The fields are painful to look at in direct reflection. Report this Post to the Staff
