I bought a $25 dollar box of pennys and have found a few nice coins in my first couple rolls, two LWC and a 1972D DDO.

Now, after opening another 6 or 7 rolls, I have noticed that these coins are all facing the same way, no LWC at all now, no shield or more recent mintage's. This is strange to see all of the pennys facing the same way when I take them out of the roll. Has anyone seen this before?

I've only hunted for silver in JFK 50c's... but I would have to imagine that it could happen. Is there a possibility that someone had already gone through them?

It's not at all unusual to go 7 rolls and not find any wheats. If they're all facing the same way, it just means they were hand-rolled by someone who likes to organize things.

homerecher - I got these at the bank and they are not mint rolls, just hand rolled pennys but all with the same wrapper but that could be because of brinks, maybe brinks wrapped these from loose machines? ZiggyZ - that is what I am worried about, an organized coin collector.

I can not complain, I posted the pics of the 1972D DDO I found in another part of this form and it was my first DD find ever, so if that is all I get then oh well, it was worth it!
Rest in Peace

I believe you bought a CWR. When all the coins are going the same way, somebody went through them. Good DDO find.

"that is what I am worried about, an organized coin collector. "

I doubt you're getting another roll hunter's dumps. If you look through tens of thousands of cents, you're probably going to give up on facing them the same way pretty quick (you'll also probably give up on rerolling them). I'd guess it's just someone's old coin jar.
