Is it my imagination or are the more colorful or just colored coins in NGC holders? Looking through the auctions, ebay, Heritage and others seems that way.

Ok lets try this. Would you rather have your colored coin in a NGC or PCGS holder?

Considering PCGS coins go for a higher price PCGS.

Aside from that personally I like the look of the clear PCGS holder over the white NGC one better anyway

Do you mean colored coins or toned coins. Big difference.

Tell me the difference. Aren't you going to use colors to describe your toned coin?

Basebal
I have heard that consensus, but what is that based on? Do people buy a $1000 coin crack it out and resubmit to PCGS Then get what kinda percentage more?
What happened to buy the coin not the holder?

If thats the case how is NGC and ANACS still in business? If they are worth more in PCGS slabs.

Many coins today are actually colored. Painted and/or even have stickers added to them. Some people really attempt to send thoes in for slabbing. Not toned, colored.

Yes, done lots of times.

Good question. Maybe they are all out of buisness and there is only PCGS but we haven't found out yet.
PCGS is rather well known by most coin people. Many dealers like to say "Of course it costs more, it's in a PCGS slab"
And contrary to this is so many people prefer to purchase a ANACS or others since they ASSUME they can get it for a lesser price. And remember there are many that say the same about NGC that coins in a NGC slab are worth more.
If you go to Google and type in TPGS's, you would be amazed that there are many, many of them.

Ive noticed a lot of toned coins in NGC holders. I believe they tend to grade higher vs PCGS when it comes to toned coins. I've also noticed a lot of toned coins in NGC holders with the * designation. I believe what people were wanting clarification on is if you were talking toned or colored as in enameled or painted coins. As to your question as to how are NGC and ANACS still in business. I believe ANACS pulls the market share of people who want their coins graded and don't want to have to pay a membership fee. They are also top notch when it comes to varieties. NGC is just about up there with PCGS. Most of the time PCGS coins will command a higher premium but not always. Also with PCGS and NGC offering registry sets on their websites, which have become very popular lately, they have added a ton of competitive collectors to their ranks.

I guess my choice of words was wrong. Never thought people would think otherwise.
