Here is my Leo the wise Byzantine. The legends aren't the best but I liked the details on the obv.

Interesting coin, it appears to be Leo VI 886-912. What I find interesting is the shape of the eyes and nose. The eyes are less oval than what I have seen on his coins. The purples are a vertical line. The nose is also a straight line. Nice coin which I believe is Sear # 1729.

Thanks, one of the reasons why I bought this coin is because of the face and obv details.

I put my computer and camera in storage and my phone just doesn't take too good of pictures so the photos aren't that great.

Here are two of my Leo VII, both are Sear 1729. It's a bit difficult to see from the image but on the first coins the eyes are round.

Both very nice coins echizento! The legends are there and not just barely on the coin like mine. I see what your talking about with the eyes. I am getting another coin in the mail and the eyes are very detailed on it and I will post it when it arrives. It's a bad picture but the eyes on this coin look something like this (0) but vertical instead.

Looking forward to seeing the new coin. Not many of us collect Byzantine coins, so it's always nice to see new additions.

Yeah I like the style, I like roman and Greek too but Byzantines are right up there too. Here are a few pics I took with this little magnifier that I bought off Amazon but never use because it has only 1 little LED light and only lights up a small area but it finally came in handy.

Here is a better photo of this coin. I changed my address the weekend before last and was waiting on some packages to come which still haven't arrived. I hope they show up soon. I just started to get my forwarded mail today so maybe sometime this week I will get my new coins.
