Found this 1981(p) Nickel while searching through some old rolls from my mom. This one jumped out because of the noticeable "extra thickness" to where Jefferson's adams apple would be. I can't find anything online if this is a known variety or if its just PMD. Please take a look and offer your opinions.

I also included some images of what appears to be slight doubling on the letters and star.

Hi, I am certainly no expert but what I see is a regular coin, but I have also noticed that some of the earlier mintage years have much more relief than the later more recent mintages (like nickel you have shown here as well as some of the Lincoln Cents from the 50's and 60's) so what you noticed would be consistent with how these coins were minted in that time period.
