He posted a few comments on both of them when I originally posted them; he hasn't examined either in-hand. The second is a (probable) split die with central die subsidence. I've found examples from both dies in the Heritage archives, and there's one from the same die on eBay.

MS examples from that die have sold on Heritage for $115-160, so it's probably a little high for AU, but not completely insane. Examples of the other one (and some similar shattered dies) have gone for twice that. I've turned down a couple offers on mine.
