Was looking at some of the local auctions in my area and the last lot was some common date quarters and nickels. But what was also in this lot was some old Guide book of United States coins. One was a 1947 1st print.  Front Cover  Front page  Page 135 I am so excited to have finally got this. It also came with a Red Book 1974, blue book 1960 (17th edition), a coin collecting brochure from Guttag Brothers (New York N.Y), and a catalog from 1927 for gold coins |

That is pretty cool! My parents tossed all my old books when I left, But not the coins. Still looking for old books.

bought it for $75 and came with $11 in coins

Wow very nice find. I've been collecting these when I find them at garage sales or thrift shops. My oldest so far is 1962. Congrats on your purchase!

I have the same book. It was my grandfathers and I saved it from the trash bin when my parents were going through my grandmother's things. It is a pretty cool book and neat to look at the price changes from then to now. I also grabbed a 1911 stamp guide on the same day. Nice find.
