I don't collect Kennedy's, so perhaps that's why I'd never noticed the design difference in the 1999. JFK sure looks different in the obverse compared to the others...

I just looked at my Kennedy collection and it looks like the extra hair detail was added in 1991. I haven't included this modification as a separate type. The 1999-D in my collection is filling the 1971-Present Clad Kennedy spot.

Congrats on completing the set! So what is next? Will you get any older halves?

I do plan on adding older halves to the set. There are a few more upgrades that I would like to make with my 20th Century Type set before I start concentrating on the 19th Century Types. The 20th Century coins will all be MS coins, but I am sure I will have to start mixing in some circulated coins for the older types to make the set feasible.

I've just about got my dollars (Morgans through present) all photographed so I will be able to post those soon.

The Draped Bust Half will be a challenge for sure unless you have several grand laying around to get a nice problem free example. The Bust and Seated halves are going to be expensive in higher grades but a nice common date low AU would most likely be cheaper than your barber.

Really nice set

I probably will have to stop at 1800 when it comes to the Half Dollars - definitely no 1796 or 1797 halves will be in my set. I am aiming for high AU coins for the Capped Bust and Seated halves. I'm hoping to have 5 types of Seated and 2 types of Capped Bust halves so it will be a while before I have to address the Draped Bust Half.
