I am looking at a 1822 (Wide Date) Large Cent as a potential 7070 coin and would like some opinions. Asking price is $40 USD, plus S/H, and has been on the market since 12/25/2010. These are the sellers images.

Thanking you in advance!

The price seems OK, but not a bargain. I'm not sure if mine is the same variety, but I paid $21

Reason it is on the market so long is it's a bit over priced.

Yeah, $25-30 would be more like it.

CoinWorld shows a value of 50 for VG8. Its a nice looking coin with no apparent problems. If I were looking on that one I would pull the trigger on it.

I reckon that would leave some room for "haggling". Thanks!

Well it is a N-5 R-3 so there is no premium for the variety. It's just a little over priced.

If it is for a 7070 I would suggest holding out for a higher grade. Matron Head cents can be found with really nice strike and surface if you take your time.

oh you waited.
I would have wanted to know the true color before I bought it.
Looks blue in the picture but may be brown.
You'll find a better one.
