I can remember a thread a while ago discussing these albums. I have found a source of them in Australia and they are dansco push in types. I got one the other day. let me know if you want one and I will post the ebay listing.

If only it was a supreme Link please anyway Yours seems to be coming along well. Im going to take a guess and say 1910 Florin would be the hardest/most expensive coin in the Aussie type set if in decent grade? What do others think?

Surprisingly not, there are a lot of other florins that are harder/more expensive than the 1910. here's the link http://www.ebay.com/itm/30045840838....m1439.l2649

Of course there are some that are more expensive but if you wanted to you could just get a common date for most holes. You dont get any choice for the 1910 coins.

that is the beauty of this album, I filled all but 2 holes with what I had in spare coins. With the exception of the Melbourne florin this would have to be the easiest Aussie album to complete

Decades ago, I made up a complete type set, with each type represented with the rarest date, except the '30 penny, which was represented with a '25.
Average condition of the notable rare coins good VF.
The type set was part of a much larger collection, which became part downpayment on our first house. The set was sold way back in 1976.

My decimal and pre decimal Australian sets are pretty much complete as I will never be able to afford a 1930 penny and the 1923 1/2d and the 1921/22 over date 3d are only a possibility, this album was fun to do and without any great expense in comparison to some of my other Aussie albums. IMHO this would be a great starter album for anyone starting off collecting Aussie coins as there are all the different designs, monarchs and denominations in the one album and would lead to a better understanding of what to look for in Aussie coins in general

$15 postage seems very steep seeing as its from Aus and not very heavy!

Mine arrived in super quick time and The only other one of these I could source was form the States and was old and crusty with a higher postage. I didn't mind paying the postage just so that I could get one of these. I will be getting another couple of these just for "secret Santa " next year and one for myself.

If it's over 500g and more than 20mm thick then you're done for with regards to postage.

Great trout1105. Looks like I do have long way to go, so far, only 50c set complete.

That's it. Going to design a new version of it and propose it to Dansco.

Thinking about the postage a bit more and considering its probably quite thick the postage probably isn't that unreasonable.
