Hi, I have only just registered so forgive me if I make mistakes...
I have been passed a coin from 1790 French Revolutionary period I believe and was wondering as to the rarity and value of the coin.

Thanks...

I moved your welcome post to the 'Identification: Unidentified Coins, Medals, and Tokens' forum for the proper attention.

And minted in Birmingham no less:

These come up on ebay fairly frequently. Around £15.00 when I'm not bidding, and over £30.00 when I do bid. I'm always unlucky with these.

A token-a "Medal of Convenience" for 5 Sols during the revolutionary period, eimbursable in assignats (paper money). The reverse has a familiar motto- Live free or death, and the date of the storming of the Bastille.
