Took the ol garret ace250 out for the first time this year. Went to a field were my old highschool used to be ( I'm only 21 and they already demolished it..)

Dug up a total of..

27 pennies
2 loonies
1 nickel dime
1 silver dime (50% 1968)
1 foreign cent

total face value of $2.48 or $2.38 and 1 silver dime :)

Nice! I really need to save up some money and get me a detector (and brush up on the laws for them here in the US).

They have Laws on metal detectors in the U.S. ?
Oh ya I forgot. First, 60 hrs. of safety training, proper battery insertion and disposal, EPA certification, license to carry a metal detector, finger prints, DNA sample, criminal background check, credit check, drug screening, complete physical and physcho check, 5 letters of recommendation to start. That's just for the state that you live in. for transport or use across state lines you need a Class III
federal M.D. license. That requirement list is twice as long.
And don't forget usage and permit costs.

Metal detector - $500.00
Above listed fee's etc. - $125,000.00
Two 9 volt batteries and a small spade - $9.95 + tax
One rotten zincoln cent - "Priceless"

really? there are that many reles and regulations regarding metal detectors in the U.S.? I wanted to buy one. but not it\f that is the c ASE
