Just wonder why it take so long for RCM to ship out customer orders? Has anybody in this forum have the same experiences? I shop online a lot Canada, US, Australia, Hong Kong. This is the first time I shop online with RCM and I think it is also my last time. Their product is beautiful and awesome. But the customer service and shipping wait time is terrible. I placed my order on May 14th. On the web site it take 2 days to processing. OK, Fine. But today is 19th, and my order still in processing status, not even ship out, and I did not receive any E-mail about the shipment. Call them on Friday, and they said my order will be ship out on that day (Friday, May 18th). But not, I track online, It is still processing. So.....Disappointed about their service. Next time if I want to get a coin from RCM. I would buy it from the dealer or on ebay. I don't might to pay a little more money, still better than get crazy about the Unknown shipping time.

Don't feel bad bibo I ordered five of the new batch of coins Apr.2 and have not received a single coin...the mint seems really slow this time around at filling the orders...I think the first run went to all the dealers...and us that Web ordered have to wait..yes it is unfortunate when delays happen...

I ordered a dozen coins on 23 Feb. Just got the first 3 of them yesterday. I think the RCM had some bugs in their ordering system but that's mostly speculation on my part. Check out this other thread for some 'horror' stories. :-) https://goccf.com/t/119320

I'm also waiting for Feb 23 and multiple April 2 pre-orders, most of which for items that a lot of people already received. Their logistics are ridiculous.

This seems to be an on going discussion with no real reason or explanation provided for their delays. The funny part is that I know the people at the Mint read these post because they had one closed down for using unauthorized images from their website. So when you post here and complain here they do hear you. I'm sure when you call them incompetent morons that they feel offended also.
The problem of course is that they have been hearing so many complaints as of late that they are now in ignore and deny mode. So I'm afraid emailing them or calling them will result in nothing. Instead they should be in damage control mode because this short period of time is going to cost them a great deal of future sales. If silver prices go down so will their profits. If they keep upsetting people; customers and dealers people will loose interest. Only bad things can happen after that.
I've heard several reasons for the delays, all rumors but the truth is there somewhere:
1) Canada Post has requested a greater number of coins this year resulting in them getting priority and for many orders to customers and dealers being canceled or cut.
2) They are having problems finding suppliers to produce capsules for the new coin sizes this year.
3) The new process of putting paint over engraving is not sticking and causing a large scrap rate.
4) Foreign dealers are getting preference in deliveries over Canadian Dealers and MC customers.
5) They cracked some dies some time back that resulted in a backlog they have not been able to recover from.
6) They are pumping out silver bullion because the price of bullion fluctuates and the price is going down resulting in a huge loss. Just look at AMPEX's new Titanic and Dragon privy coins. Collector coin prices are fixed and silver going down wont effect sales or pricing.
7) Their online ordering system is messed up resulting in them taking to many orders for products. This why when a coin goes short they switch to phone orders only.
8) The mint just recently became a publicly traded company and profits seam to be more important than quality and service.
9) They seam to be understaffed. Go to the mint web site you will see many key positions remain unfilled.
There seam to be a lot of crap going on at the mint. Hard to pinpoint and specific reason.
The mint needs to get right with its customers and dealers. Not just MC customers, the regular customer is the core of their business. Dealers and MC customers will always buy coins but if the average customer loses interest, then that will be bad for everybody.
My advise to the mint; Get you F$%&*@G act together. Also find a way to make good with customers that will make everybody but the Mint happy. Give your customers a deal on a coin, put coins on sale, or do something to show you understand you messed up and are truly sorry and not cold hearted greedy pigs only interested in profits.

Dooby-Rak, interesting points you got there. Hopefully, these crazy delays will clear up by the end of the month.

I guess people are complaining about MC members ordering large amount and fliping them on ebay, so all RCM can do is putting MC orders in the last batch to deliver so they are not that profitable due to the delay

I would not mind, as a master club member, to get my stuff last as long as I get my order and they didn't cut me short. What is getting everyone upset is waiting 4 month for the coins that we ordered. I still have 80% of the coins I ordered this year not delivered. I have no idea what logic they are using for delivery order. I got my latest 20 for 20 some weeks ago any father who has a subscription has not got his coins. There seam to be a lot of problems at the mint and so few answers. The worst part is they not apologetic at all about pushing back the release time line or cutting orders short. If they really cared they would give you a discount on your next order or offer a substitute coin at a discount price, something. The mint has a monopoly on coins in Canada and thinks it can get away with this kind of behavior and lack of service.
I'm kind of glad they took the company public. As profits decline and the share price goes down share holders will be out for blood and heads will role. Many a CEO has be ousted for under preforming. Just as the former CP Rail CEO. Good luck Mr. Ian E. Bennett, if the Mint starts to loose money it will be your head on the chopping block.

In the past - before the interweb, I remember a delay on some coins - I'm thinking it was '88 olympic set. In the end, they came clean, and a Platinum coin thrown in too. (don't remember the denomination, but it was about the size of a dime)Still have it somewhere :)

RCM is a public traded company? I thought it was a crown corporation.

Our friendly RCM rep has been silent for about a month, wonder what's up with that ? Maybe she could answer your concerns.

http://tmx.quotemedia.com/article.p...m_symbol=MNTBuying this stock is equivalent to buying gold... (not quite like investing in the RCM). "ETR holders are entitled to redeem their ETRs for physical gold products in the form of 99.99 per cent pure gold bars or coins, or for cash based on the lesser of the gold price on the redemption date and the market price of the ETRs. "
