My father has several complete Whitman folders containing 1964 - 1983 Kennedy halves. I'd like to continue his collection up to and through 2002. Since I don't want to order whole rolls from the mint, I'll need to go to a local dealer here at a flea market.
Can anybody tell me how much I should be willing to pay for single post 2002 AU Kennedy half dollars?

Thanks,
Casey

It's pretty easy to find a lot of them by roll hunting, if that gives you any idea.

If you're willing to spend more than face value, try:

http://davescoins.com/index.php

or his new ebay-linked site:

http://www.davescollectiblecoins.co...t/StoreFront

I've had very good experiences buying Kennedy halves, both busiess and proofs, from him.

I wouldn't pay more than 75 cents for a post 2002 half in about uncirculated condition

, mrcasey!

Singles are a $2-3 item, with a bit of a discount on multiples you need.

Are you asking about 1984 through 2002? Or Post-2002?

The former is easy to find through roll hunting, except just a couple tougher dates. Particularly the 1987 P&D.

The post-2002 is not so easy to find by roll hunting because they were made in smaller quantities. Those were not intended for circulation, and so we call them NIFCs.
Rest in Peace

Once you get more posts you could put an add in the wanted section of this forum and I would think you could get the ones you want.

I figured that I could roll hunt for those between 84 and 2002. After 02' will be
the problem. The guy at the flea market wants $1.50 for each. They look pretty good
to me, but I'm very new at this. As such, I'm terrible at grading coins.

Thanks for all the input and ideas.

It's okay to own coins because you like the looks of them, without worrying too much about the official grading.

Daves Coins is a nice place to get coins, but from what I see on the website there's only 2002-2004 available in Kennedy NIFCs.
