I have been stalking ebay for a few days now, and I assume its because silver is down, but there are some good deals to be had on ebay right now for modern commem unc dollars.

I collect these when I find good prices, and last night I bought a louis braille unc for under $30. I am watching a few more for the same price... under $30.

Seems to me that with the potential of this series (in my opinion, as I know others here share the opinion) this is a good time to make a few buys.

Thoughts?

From what I've seen the raw coins on ebay always seem to go below what it would cost to get them from a coin site ect. I only buy slabbed coins on there though, but I would guess some of it is because of the increased fraud risk.

But if its a dealer you trust I would get it.

As far as good time to buy, its not a bad time. Unless you think silver will go back up I wouldnt load up on them just hoping to make money, but at the same time if they are coins you want 20 something for a nice commem is a very reasonable price imo

It will be interesting to see the prices on some of these when the current silver meltfest ends

The price of silver has driven them up quite a bit. Look at what their price was 3-5 years ago and you'll see a big price difference from them. Like others have said, if silver drops more, so will their price. That's one reason why I'm not buying silver coins now.

Interesting thoughts.
Im buying now because I like the set and I can get them cheaper than if silver is going up and up.

I dont plan to sell them , so I guess if silver goes up one day, great. If not, oh well.

Hondo, I did the same thing with the proof coins I was missing a few years ago but I was looking for under $20 a coin then.
