Picked up a roll of customer wrapped nickels at the bank. Roll was marked '1963 P' and was in a very old wrapper. Entire roll looks like this one and here are pics of the first one - grade?

thanks!

Hard to tell from the picks how much luster is present; I'm kinda thinking the luster is there peeking through; I will say MS63.

Unusual to see some steps on this date and mint and it looks like there's a couple plus there. I would say MS63+ on this one, Maybe you have some in the roll with more steps? Was this the best in the roll?

this was the first one, so I consider it average for the roll. I'll go through and pick the best one to photograph.

1. here is a pic of the coin with the most steps. most coins have a couple of steps. some have none. a few have this many.

2. several of the coins do indeed have some luster. I don't know how to photograph luster.

I think the very best certainly deserve protection and preservation. I think you ended up with an above average solid date BU roll.
Naturally, some step detail and better grade are better than the same without step detail.
I don't see full steps but unusual details worth keeping.
Here's your charts.

It looks like it would grade around MS-63. Cool find to get a BU roll like that.

FMV = Fair Market Value
