The RCM website says unlimited mintage for the 25 cent stampede coin but I noticed in a mint brochure it said mintage limit 20,000. If anyone knows the truth please let me know.

I just see "while supplies last" which could still mean 20000. I ordered three last night. They'll make good gifts for kids.

Thanks for the response. It seems really weird for a coin that doesn't have a mintage limit to be awaiting stock at the Mint.

There is a mintage limit it is 20000 but sometimes they don't sell all of them like the tulip lady bug so they don't make the whole batch at once, the bug stopped selling at around 14000 or so when demand for them slowed and they did not make anymore

Thanks elk I understand that they might not make the whole mintage if a coin doesn't sell well, but usually when there's a mintage maximum like 20,000 it will state in the specs of the coin 20,000 mintage limit. Online in the specs of this coin it doesn't mention a mintage limit of 20,00 but a brochure I saw it said mintage limit 20,000.

I'm wondering about this coin too. No preset limit, why would it be last chance already? Awaiting stock, then why can't we preorder?
Seems to be a very short run on this coin. I ordered one, short window of availability, and seemingly not too much interest on the boards, maybe a very low mintage when its all said and done. Plus I guess it's a PNC of sorts.

I like it. Saw it at the post office and can't help picking up a few for keeps. The PNC aspect of it did me in.

are you sure it was a mint brochure and not a CanadaPost one? I saw a Canada Post brochure (lising RCM products) that had the 20,000 max mintage on it. Maybe that's it; the post will issue a max of 20,000 PNC packages while the mint have no set limit.

RCM publication called Impression 2012 volume 4 says "limited to 20,000 coins worldwide". It will sell out soon. Just for fun, I ordered one from the Mint on May 14th and two on May 22nd from Canada Post. The race is on to see which gets delivered first. But I think we know which horse is the long shot.

just buy one at my local PO. I saw they display some. Don't need to wait and pay shipping at RCM. The real coin is really nice looking (comepared with some 25c released recentely.) and you have extra 2 stamps and a poster, both are nice.

Just got a shipping notice from the Mint. I thought for sure that CP would win the race but it looks like it's a win for the RCM......this time.

Good, they'll get here before the stampede begins! I can stand to wait for my Two Loons but I'd be pretty mad if the stampede coins came after the stampede.

This one went from "Awaiting Stock" to "Archived" today just like the Bumble Bee 25-cent coin. Another sell-out at the RCM.

I think it's a sellout as well. A local RCM authorized dealer told me the same today. The thing is, the Stampede likely ordered a massive amount to be sold during the event itself, so there should still be many available to those that visit Calgary at least, just not until July
