Not to bad over spot!
With this metal trading at one time at $10,000 a oz could mean a huge return

I would have a hard time spending that kind of cash for anything with the word sponge in title, lol. Just can't wrap my mind around Rhodium in sponge form....

I would not mind one bit however to own one of those 1 oz. bars, be the only guy on the block with a 1 oz. Rhodium bar I would be willing to bet, lol....

That sounds like a real bubble price it once was at Swrbxxx, an now seems to be settled into more of a more stable shall we say price range right close to gold an platinum....

The sponge has been on the market forever, I actually have 5 bottles being held through my kitco holdings.
cohen mint does a bar but to be honest it is no where close to being the mint that Baird & Co. is. I think ill be on the phone tm trying to score a few of these. Hopefully I can arrange a in store pick up or canadian shipping. I have a erie feeling on rhodium as a solid 4-5g a oz metal

Thanks for posting the link, I have been waiting for a long time for Kitco to start selling Rhodium bars instead of in a sponge form.

Isn't the reason rhodium bars are not popular because Rhodium is a very brittle metal?

Just bought one but not from Kitco. Didn't care for their terms.

Sponge form metals are very common in the chemical business. Typically, such metals are alloyed with aluminum, coarsely ground, and then the aluminum is partially leached out with aqueous sodium hydroxide. The metal is then water washed a few times, filtered under inert gas, and stored under water in lined metal cans with lids. If not water covered, these metals are sufficiently reactive that they will burst into flame upon contact with air. We used this to test catalytic activity. Get a few drops of the liquid with a bit of catalyst, place in a test tube, add methanol, swirl, let settle, and then put a drop of mostly catalyst onto a dry paper towel. If the catalyst is "hot", the paper will catch fire in a few seconds. Ah, the good old days!
