I thought I'd start a thread for folks to brag about getting the dollars.
I got mine on my way in to work. Anyone else?

I hit a few banks this morning, but none had on hand and only one said they'd have them this coming Saturday. I'd like to be able to bring some in for the monthly local coin club meeting tonight in Houston.

I bought six rolls this morning. P mint.
I am willing to trade even for two rolls of D. We each pay our own postage.
Also, I will supply a few loose for those that cannot get them.
Questions I have, since I have not been in this before.
Are they still considered UNC?
Does it degrade the value of unopened rolls to write the date on the wrapper in pencil?
Are these "First Day of Issue? (I know technically they are, but can I SAY that when selling some?)
Thanks,
Seth

I stopped by Grand Central this morning and picked up 10 rolls. I gave one roll to my nine year olds to share with their class. They are doing a thing for Presidents day. Each kid dress' up as a diferent president gives their report. Four rolls went to PCGS for "first day of issue slabbing" The bukk order requires todays postmark. That leaves 5 rolls for trading/fun/spending.

I'm sure I know the answer, but just in case I'm wrong....
Is there any way to tell if a roll is P or D mint without busting it open?

I was going to bring them and take pic and such but they were snowed out of school yesterday and I didn't want them to miss another. I went thru the line at about 8:30. Great conversations with non collectors in line.

Look at the outside of the wrapper. The ones wrapped in Pennsylvania are P.

UH oh. Just read on other sites that some have busted the bank rolls and found terrible, dinged --maybe MS 65-66. That's in ten rolls.
Are these really worth a submission, First Day or not?

I wound up getting a couple of rolls this afternoon. The wrapper says Harrisburg, PA, but they are Denver mints. And the portraits are pretty banged up. But they would all be considered uncirculated, shiny and fresh from the roll. I've shared some with the clerks at the post office and the baristas at Starbucks. The baristas say they look like arcade tokens. I hope they enjoy them at the coin club meeting tonight.

Before everyone get too excited about these coins, let me point out a couple of areas that you must not have thougt of; Joeyuk those rolls you show are not wrapped by the mint, but by N.F.Strong & Sons, Inc. of Harresburg, PA. You have no idea exactly what you have in those rolls as to condition or at what time they were produced. This 'first strike' falicy is just that, it just dom't prove anything to have the coins in rolls and sold by the bank the first day. * As for the condition of the coins in the rolls. They could be almost anything from totally ruined to MS, but without looking you will never know. I unroll every roll I get and after inspection I reroll them in their same wrapper. * First day issue is not worth the time, or trouble to prive this issue.

I got mine. My bank would only sell 2 rolls per person. so I took my boss with me and he got two for me.

OldDan you are correct in all you said. I'm not sure my picking thru them would be better or worse in the long run. Bulk submission is the only way to get the label people on E-BAY will be looking for. They need to sell for like $12 each to break even. I may end up with a high grade one. We'll see.

I got a roll today; they were rolled in Harrisburg, PA. Should I keep them all rolled up? Where's the mint mark, on the edge? I thought they were supposed to be golden in color. They look more silverish than golden.
