I found this brown 1945 Wheat penny is that normal? Also I have posted a pic of 1974 penny with red in it.

depends on where the mint mined for the copper...i think its a richer quality of copper...my opinion....like chocolate..I like the dark red ones myself...

All copper coins turn shades of brown from circulation. From there they can sometimes go black or even green from something called verdigris.

Is the color normal? Yep.

Finding one? Nope.

I'm no expert, but I think finding something that old is pretty special.

I think the red on the 1974 is ink or paint.
