I looked at this coin this morning for about 10 minutes, then deciced the pictures were'nt good enough to tell for sure, just looked again & it's just too good to be true & the 23 look larger than the 19 to me so FAKE I believe.

I think I said this in another thread, but with this kind of coin you should only buy off a reputable dealer.

OK,i won't harp on it but in 50 years of collecting I've never seen so many 1923 halves for sale, there everywhere, and most appear genuine but there is something wrong.

Just a theory of mine but I would say many people who may purchased these years ago are nearing retirement and because of the bad financial market need to sell to make up for losses in their super.

A very questionable listing on ebay coins like this are usually fake listings and that is sad

So so so so so faking fake. It's all in the 2 & the 3. The 3 is sculpted far too big. The curves are larger than they should be. Also, the tail of the 2 is not thickly defined will a forceful upturn. It actually looks like a wavey base 2 if such a fake could exist. I've had my look & that's my view.

Yep China, they have been faking aussie coins for many years.

The UK seller nicwinner mentioned is probably the same person who bought 80 of these off an aussie seller who sold hundreds of FAKE 1938 crowns & 1934/35 Centenial Florin about 2 years ago,Richard Welling of Ye old coin co was the first to bring this out into the open & received death threats for doing so.

Sorry the UK buyer actually bought 30 FAKES in one lot not 80,i think 80 might have been the overall amount & this is only from memory no other source.
