Found this searching a roll.

I find it difficult to distinguish between the lower grades. I included a scan (which came out a little distorted and make it seem lesser of a grade in my opinion), and photos in hand. In person you can see faint definition in the Wheat Stalk lines but they are still present.

What do you think?

Thanks!
Joey

WOW! Awesome find! Looks to be F-12 details due to the corrosion. That coin is a prime candidate for conservation with VERDI-CARE™. I think almost all of that verdigris could be removed within minutes.

Dip it? All Lincoln had to do was look at the bottle and that verdigris jumped right off him! Lol.

No, it was about 5 minutes little less actually.

Would this not be considered 'cleaning' a coin?

Looks like you saved it! Take a picture using the same conditions/lighting as you first picture. I might use them if you don't mind.

Thanks for sharing!

Conservation. Cleaning is a harsh process that results in a coin that would be rejected by collectors. Once he gets better pictures, I'll bet you'd take this coin.

The obverse from what I could tell might be an XF40. If there is good separation between cheek and jaw, the ear is complete with slight wear behind it.

The reverse looks to me to be a VF20-30.

I would grade it a VF35.

Wish the pics were clearer. I would suggest using PCGS's photograde on their web site and if you have a tablet like an IPad its a free application.
