For the last couple of weeks I've gotten some sweet looking 2012 Lincoln cents in change. I've taken about every other one aside and put them in a 2X2 for my collection. If they have even the slightest scratch or imperfection I spend it, but some are almost perfect from the roll. No Denver mint yet, still hoping to get a few of those, and a couple of unopened rolls for my collection too. By the way, I'm in South Carolina, near the North Carolina border. Was at a store in Gulf Shores, Alabama on Vacation and they gave me 4 new 2012 cents in change. I looked in the drawer and saw a brand new full roll. asked if I could buy it and she said sure. Got a whole roll for Face, 50 cents. :-)

I see from the latest mint statistics, that the 2012 cents are increasing over last year and the year before. I have gotten a couple dozen 2012's already. Most really nice. Unfortunately, this is the only denomination for 2012 that I have gotten at all in change. Where are the rest?

I have received several 2012 D Lincoln Cents here in Denver. Mostly from big chain places (McDonalds, Walmart, etc)

Interesting to read the different reports. Hey Silverguy, I like your style. A couple of times I did the same thing with seeing rolls in registers and came out great getting them at face value. Lincoln cents are the only 2012 coinage I've seen so far around here. Good luck to my fellow collectors!

I too have rec'd some 2012 Zincolns in change. I may be in the minority but I really like the shield reverse.

Initially I didn't like the shield reverse, but when I realized it's a deliberate throwback to 19th Century coinage it began to grow on me.

I recall that Coin World had run an article showing the various proposed designs for the 2010 cent. The shield design was the best of the lot, IMO, and I liked it then. It has translated well into the finished product, which is not always the case these days at the US Mint.

I have a box of 2012p on my floor for a couple of weeks. Can't sell them on ebay. Waiting for any news of variety discovery from you'll. I got a couple of boxes of 2012d in the middle of April when I visiting Denver.
