A lot of the stuff is the same as last auction (which seems like it didn't sell)...hmm. I think I'm going to have a deeper look into this. I then realised that they have the wrong html link to it. I always use their html link: it is http://www.downies.com/aca/Auction3...talogue.html

Also, I just realised that there is another one of the 2009 $2 double strikes listed as: Item: 612 Desc: Two Dollars 2009 struck 40% off centre, aUnc Est:$200.00 Item: 1271 Desc: Penny 1937 weight 9.46gms, cleaned gFine and an interesting fabrication Est:$350.00 They're pretty much the only two things that interest me & I already have both anyway.

So the estimate for the $2 is $200... We all know estimates can be way off. What is a realistic price for this coin?

Quote: So the estimate for the $2 is $200... We all know estimates can be way off. What is a realistic price for this coin? One went on ebay this year or late last year for a touch over $500. One went in a Downies Auction nearly two years ago for $1200 plus commission. It'll most likely fall in that range somewhere.

Enworb, it's hard to say about the double strike. When they were first found they were going for around $2,000! Then more & more were discoved. More recently I know that on ebay one sold for $390. Whoever brought that one got an absolute bargain. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...p=true&rt=ncI paid $550 for mine. So it's really hard to say. At a Downies auction, I'd expect $800ish? Markn & purplepenny have one each too. Dcoin: I don't think it's the same coin, because the one in that forum has a spot behind the neck of the emu. A dot under & near the 19[b]3[b/]3. Open both next to each other, there are some things which definitely show differences between the two.
