My name is William Tallent I started collecting wheat pennies as a child and only have 67 that I received in pocket change in the fifty years of my life. lately I have been on a futile hunt for doubled dies and find it almost an obsession. Where is a good place to start. I enjoy the thrill of the hunt. I do not want to go out and buy any one coin. I want to find them however I may. is bank roll a good way to start and how many rolls of pennies are in a box? I am on a shoe string budget. I search other coins for errors so far my only finds turn out to be (although interesting) of no collectors value.

Its tough to find double dies and other such error coins while roll hunting, but it can be done. A box of cents has 50 rolls for a total of $25. Just make sure not to receive and return coins at the same bank. If you get a box of cents from one branch, return them at another so as to not wear out your welcome.

DDO's and DDR's are kinda easy to find roll searching unless you are talking about the major DD's. I find minor DD's all the time.
