Easy MS64 coin, did you notice the "bonus" on this coin? It has clash marks and an identified VAM#, but I cannot remember what it is, as I have this coin in strict MS62/63, but Morgans aren't my specialty. The clash marks are more prominent on the reverse, see the area between the wing and "G" of God, the area on the right wing and olive branch has a clear indentation of the Liberty's cap, etc. You should be able to look up this date online and find all of the markers for this VAM attribution. Nice find, btw.

Quote: did you notice the "bonus" on this coin? I sure did. It has some pretty significant clashing on the reverse. It's pretty cool. Quote: is it slabbed already? It's raw. I picked it up yesterday at my local shop. I spotted it in the showcase. It spoke to me. I had to have it. I figured it was a strong 63 and possibly a 64. Judging from everyone's opinions, looks like I wasn't far off.

although there is little by the way of photo's on VAM world for VAM 41 A, you's looks like a great candidate for a G clashed coin, its in the correct position, you would have to check other G clashed coins to really see just what this type of clash is, and what it looks like, then to examine your own coin and see if its on your coin for the VAM designation, date appears to be in the correct location for this VAM also..G

VAM-36, I think. One of the very "nearest" date locations in the entire Morgan series - it's only 1-1/2 denticles from the neck. The die crack from the O in OF is characteristic, as is the widely-spaced double clashing. Not a real value-added variety, but a fascinating one all the same.

Thanks for the VAM help. I took another look at the coin and I would have to agree that VAM 36 is a match.
