John that is why I said DD's just letting the other poster know that there is more than one DD for this date. Not that there were 8 DDR's.

Well, the 1983P-1DR-002 is pretty difficult to detect unless the pics are just right...or you have it in hand...I've found two and I really had to get the coin in the light just right. Not saying this is one but won't rule it out either.Try matching markers on the 002 and see if anything comes up.

Hey Rocktowngal, check it against these : http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...pe=dr&page=0each one has several pics of the DDR, Where it says "marker photos" there is a MDS click on the MDS for each one to see if the markers are there on your coin. By your pics it does not look like the DR1-001, hard to say if it matches up with the DR1-002. Good Luck!!

I do have the scratches that are the 1DO-002...but I do not have a crack at the corner of the monument. I do however have a crack in the 3rd column and attached bottle. I have a crack on the front going through the E

Looks like the images has two light sources. This can be deceiving as the light wraps around devices making it appear that something is there, when it isn't. A picture is better with light and shadow. When you use two light sources, it makes things appear the way they really aren't. If you are using one light source, place you hand around the area the coin is. If you see a second light source, the place something to block the unwanted light source. Light can come from a room light, sunlight from a window, light from a computer screen or something else. But to block this you can tape a facial tissue to your scope and this will block the unwanted light source. The over all size of the devices are normal. So it can't be a doubled die.

Coop, I took a paper towel and wrapped it around the entire microscope.

Looks better now. That wrap around light can make it look like something is there, but it is not. Just a normal coin.
