What do you guys think?

1869 multi error...I really like this coin due to all the errors. I count up to 11 errors just on the reverse.

Disregarding the errors, how would you grade it?

After that one, we have my latest purchase, a 1867, abit dirty, havn't soaked it in acetone yet...

VF-25 on the 1869
F-12 on the 1867.

The 1869 is crisp and nearly hit free.
It's got to be AU, doesn't it?

Shield nicks are pretty good at avoiding dings, so one without hits doesn't always mean high grade.

I'm definitely a novice when it comes to these,
although I do have a dateless one kicking around

The alignment error on the reverse of the first one is simply cool!

First one shows little or no wear but appears to have lost its luster and may have some environmental damage (green gunk at the end of "states"). I will say AU-50 to AU-53 details.

Second one shows substantial wear but is still a nice coin. I would say VF-30 or so.

yeah, the 1869 one is my pride and joy when it comes to error Shield nickels.
It's farily easy to find a badly struck nickel...now it's a mission to find one that tops the 1869 one in terms or number of errors.

the "green gunk" is simply verdigris. Thinking about getting Verdivare and treat it, but havn't taken a stand point whether I like Verdicare or not

For the 1869, I think it may make AU-50 with a little bit of verdigris. I think the 1867 may be somewhere around VF-35.
