Was roll searching and found what appears to be a 1943 Jefferson nickel. However, it is missing a mint mark. It also only weighs 4.5 grams.

By the state of that coin and the weight loss I can only assume that it has been in an acid bath

Looks like there is the faintest trace of an "S." That nickel is pretty much been destroyed.

I can just barely make out an "S" on the back.

At least it's still silver.

Well the coin is silver. Probably the only plus for it.
