Went to the main coin shop that I go to in Bay City Mi, Flying Eagle Coins and got a P and a D for $5 including the 2x2's. This time Dons wife took care of me and boy is she nice. She and I looked through one roll of P's and one roll of D's so I could pick the nicer of the bunch, it took about 20 minutes. As usual the coins are full of nicks and dings and some were stained but over all I am pretty happy with what I got. I know I can get a slabbed NGC in MS69 for $20 plus S/H and a MS70 for $80 plus S/H but that's a bit out of my price range right now. On e-bay they are going for about $5 also but I can't look them over like I did at the coin shop. Just wanted to share with the family . Thanks for lookin' John1

That's an attractive reverse. I understand that they change these every year.

I just opened the last of my spare 2011-P direct ship rolls. I've been saving the nicest one or two from each roll and spending the rest. Out of the ones I saved back I expect to find a handful of real gems. I just ordered a couple bags of 2012-P&D, I'll see how those compare with rolls.

The 2011-P&D in my album are from a mint set; they seem to be better than any I found in rolls, although not quite perfect.

That's what I do too Captain.....
For my Dansco, I use all coins from Mint and Proof sets.

But I still want a half a dozen singles from each mint to "just have". And I do have a "folder" or two that I try to put together for my Nephew and Daughter..... just for fun really, knowing that they'll tone and such things, but that doesn't really matter to me with those.

So maybe I could shoot ya an email when you get your next batch of 2012's in ?
If you're willing to sell off a few ?
(And I don't remember, but I think I still need a single or two of a couple past years ND's, as well.)

I bought "P" and "D" 2012 N.A. Dollar rolls from the Denver Mint Gift Shop.

The "P" roll was heads-heads, so I opened it and 2x2'ed one coin for a friend.
The quality of the coins is excellent. Not quite "Uncirculated" Mint Set, but a lot better than the 2009-2011 business strikes.

My "D" roll is tails-tails, which is too cool to open!
(like everyone else, I bought these for their reverse design...)

John, Right on!
Don and his wife are real nice people.
For halloween he told me they give out halves to the kids.(at their house) Funny thing is, not to many kids show up. Wish I was a kid!

@eaglefoot: Yeah, I'll have extras on my trading block. All the direct ship rolls I got last year ended up being 2011-P, so that's the only I have spares of right now. But I should have 2012-P and 2012-D soon.

I really like this years Native American dollar. I think it is one of the best reverses thus far in the series.

The coin's look real nice. I have to go and get mine. Thank's for the reminder. I would have to say that it is nice to hear that you have a real good local dealer that will take some time for you and give good prices.

The reverse of the 2012 Native American dollar is the best one yet. They seem to get better every year. These are much nicer looking coins than the Presidential dollars. I wish they still had the direct ship available. I ordered 2 boxes of 2011's last year (both D's) and spent most of them. I did swap one roll of D's with a fellow collector who had P rolls. I would love to spend the 2012 coins but I just can't put myself up to doing this when you have to pay a premium for them. If you buy a box or 250 or 500 it costs 1.10 for each coin (roughly).

I've never been into that coin shop in Bay City, I have drove by it a lot though. Do they deal much with Canadian coins?

I really like the design on the 2012 Sacagaweas. Actually most of the reverse designs have been attractive. Hopefully they keep it up.
