Nice packaging, but too high-priced and no unique coins.
I have all of these coins already, as do many others here on CCF.

It should have had at least a 2012-S Proof ASE.
The 2012 Coin And Currency Set has a better ASE than this Set does.

For my $150, this limited Set would need to contain at least one unique coin.

I got a mint survery about stuff like this. Theyre thinking of doing something similar with the sac dollars next year and the roosevelt Presidential dollars. They seem to really like the idea of repacking the same thing over and over again right now

Of if they wanted to make sure they completely ticked everyone off when they rereleased the S proof they could have thrown the RP in this set and make sure everyone was mad

Id still rather see them wait till next year if that was the case. An RP set would be one thing but Id rather not see multiple RPs a year in every product to try and sell retreads that have been in other sets. I dont mind a yearly RP but if they start putting it out in things like this every few months it will lose some of the specialness, but I would like to see that W happen in something else next year

I love sets like these because they won't tempt me to deplete my bank account...makes no sense to pay more for this year's leftovers...

I bought a few of the 2012 dollar sets with the W ASE for $59.95 because I think it's a cool set...but I will pass on this one

Repackaging the same coins over and over is not a new idea, the Legacy sets and sets in the 90's with the commemorative coins were basically the same idea. It is a revenue grab. A true limited edition set would include the 5 dollars, cent & nickel in .900 or .999 silver like the Canadians have been doing. Now that would be a set worth talking about and buying.

As most have stated this seems to be another late product issue to generate more money for the mint. This set only has silver coins no cent, nickle, or any of the brass dollars that I have with my silver proof set. I can see them now only issuing the silver coins in this format and forcing me to purchase the "clad" proof set if I wanted the other coins mentioned earlier.

I agree.

If only this were priced accordingly. I would buy it instead of the regular silver proof set; leaving me without duplicates from the clad set. It would also give me an excuse to start collecting the ASE.

What a disappointing offer. This set duplicates what I've already acquired.

I will probably end up buying this:

#1 ......because I am an idiot !

#2 ......because I have all the Premier sets....all the Prestige sets ....and all the Legacy sets .

Some day ( not in my lifetime ) they will be worth something , like the old PCGS Lace Holders or the old Regency Holders ;)

Not a bad reason. If this is something you like, then you should buy it.
