They had better not put a 2012-S ASE in this set... I didn't pay $300 for two San Fran sets to have one of the "unique" coins placed in another set....

Too late that ones already in two sets. 3 would be a real kick to the groin though

I bought a few of the 2012 dollar sets with the W ASE for $59.95 because I think it's a cool set.

Me, too, and only 10,200 of those Sets have been sold as of last Thursday.

Too late: The 2012-S Proof ASE is also in the 2012 Making American History Coin And Currency Set, which is still available as I type this.

The C&C Set is limited to 100,000, so really there's not that many more 2012-S Proof ASE's being added to the pool.

If only this were priced accordingly. I would buy it instead of the regular silver proof set; leaving me without duplicates from the clad set.

As I used to say in my signature, "You can't do that, it makes too much sense!"
The Mint forgets that there are a large number of people who buy both the Clad and Silver Sets annually, and they end up with duplicate Cents and Nickels. An all-silver Dime-to-ASE Proof Set, priced reasonably, would fit the bill perfectly, and a lot of Proof ASE buyers would find such a Set to be a neat alternative to the usual Proof ASE box.

My only post-1991 Clad Proof Set is the 2009, because four duplicate Copper Proof Cents are not really a problem!

I dont think they forget, they just want to take advantage of that fact. They can justify a higher price leaving those coins in and those coins only cost them pennies to make but bring in a lot of extra money as opposed to just selling the unique items for a cheaper price

It is a good-looking set. The price tag isn't so good looking though.

Since I don't waste my money on the non-silver proof set, I am glad they didn't offer this as the only option for the silver proof set this year. Then I would have had to buy both sets. I do like the package but I will pass on the price.

This one is a pass for me too.

While I get the concept of this product and it does look nice, the price premium is just to steep.

I prefer the complete circulating* proof set with silver coins. The ASE's are a different category to me, duplicating coins means I can buy fewer different types. Plus I'm collecting coins not packaging!

*the Kennedy; I know it doesn't circulate and I wouldn't be heart broken if they stopped producing it but I do like them.

this really reminds me of the prestige and premier sets and just may end with the same fate as them, selling under issue price years later

I have bought one of those each year they have been offered since they were released in 2007. Actually I used to buy two a year and give one away in a contest on this forum but since they didn't produce them in 2009 I wasn't sure they would do it again but was glad to see them again this year

I just wonder because they are gonna limit them to two per household. Every time they have done this the recent past the sets have gone up considerably in the short and long term prices.
