My daughter brought this coin from her boyfriends fo me to ask about?
It looks like a canadian 25c punched onto a cent planchette.
She hopes it is worth a million dollars :)

Very cool! I don't know about a million but here's one that went recently for $400.

From those pictures, there is a good chance that it is genuine. Everything looks right for an off metal error.
That is a really nice find.

Sweet...from the pics provided...looks genuine to me. If he plans on selling it off I would send it in and have it certified to realize the maximum value for such an error. As for which TPG to send it to...I will leave that to the more experienced members here when it comes to slabbing or bagging coins. I'm not sure which is best for handling Canadian Off Metal Error coins.

I will give him a genuine Quarter for it...in MS condition even.

CCCS in Quebec would be the best grading company to use for your coin.
Personally, If I were selling it, I wouldnt bother getting it graded as the cost for mailing and grading will cut into profits.
It is what it is and would probably fetch between $200 - $400 on ebay.
Nice Coin!

I would like to add that the quarter on a cent error would be worth more than the cent on dime listed earlier. I'm not as knowledgable in canadian errors, but that would usually be the case with errors on US coinage.
Please let us know what they end up doing with error.

150 to 350 would be more accurate for a raw, circulated off metal error of any smaller denomination than 50c

"Big" bucks (700 and a lot up)only for 50c and dollars. 2-dollar coins fetch between 350-750.

ebay is full of similar (Canadian) errors at higher prices - but they don't sell.
