Just like the way it looked
The 1 and the 9 setting lower than the 4and the 2
caught my attention. Don't know if it is anything
or if it normal for the year yet.

The date looks normal. Given the luster, I'd have to call it AU50.

Thanks Capt was not sure about that date thing.
Have not had the opportunity to study Mercury dimes
as in depth as I would like. They are still my
favorite dime design though.

One of the local coin shops has a .925 silver candy dish that he keeps
filled with silver dime for close to spot. I enjoy looking through it from time
to time. I have even found some Seated dimes in there once.
Not the greatest condition but still...

nice dime dude. I like this series a lot. For the $2 or so you paid, that's one to stick in a 2x2 and enjoy.

Also, I have studied this series in-depth and I am not aware of type set errors on that date although I am off to google right now.
