Many, if not all, of these coins I've posted separately, but I thought it might be nice to put them all together. Now it's kinda like going to the zoo to see all the animals in one place. I invite any and all to post their zoo coins either as a group or separately. Note: I have my eye on a couple of others.

All nice coins. I like the zoo series type set but don't have enough nice coins yet.

Great set jw! I only have two; I'm not actively pursuing the zoo series but may do so in the future. Panther Stag (I deleted a while ago the seller's - a member on this forum - photo and I haven't taken my own photos of it yet. It's not much to look at anyway though; but its still a decent coin IMO)

The opportunity to collect sets of Roman coins such as this is rare. More interesting as a set here. Well done.

Tonight I discovered I was about to make a mistake I might regret by releasing an animal from my zoo. At the last coinshow I attended I bought several Gallienus coins including a panther (bottom below). When I got home I discovered that I already had a coin (top) too exactly the same to keep both so I decided to upgrade the collection and move the old coin to my trade stock. Tonight I was entering those coins in my computer database and discovered something else I had forgotten. The original coin was one of two in my collection that was sold in the Massachusetts Historical Society sale of the ancient coin collection of John Quincy Adams. My new coin has legend problems on the reverse but is a great deal nicer in other regards. Still I can't bring myself to part with a coin that once belonged to a President (he had good coins and junk just like I do). I would have been upset had it been sold before I discovered the forgotten fact of where it came from. The other JQA coin got a page and sticks in my mind better. http://www.forumancientcoins.com/do...ac34jqa.htmlAm I the only one who considers the previous owners of our coins a factor worth considering?

The panter reverse is definetly on my list of the 'Zoo' series. I don't think I'd get rid of 'ANY' coin that belonged to a president! Good catch Dougsmit!

The stag coin in your second set of photos is the zoo coin you sold me jessvc1. I'll just save that pic if you don't mind until I take my own photos of it.

Sure sounds good I didn't realize that, I was just going through my photobucket and looking at my pictures.
