As far as I know, it is not true and there does not appear to be any supporting evidence.

Just googled it and nothing came up so I would guess no. Not really sure why they would at this point.

Um, no. You'd have to know the personalities involved to understand just how unlikely that is.

the last thing I ever heard of anything like this about a TPG being sold was that the president of PCI or ICG had purchased ANACS or the other way around, but this was years ago and believe they have changed hands once again since then (which ever one it was)

My High School friend Keith Love, started ICG, he left the company for short period, for personal health reasons, but maintained the CEO position, he returned to operations and eventually sold it to James Taylor, who sold it to Mark Jaffe of National Gold Exchange (bankrupt) now Phoenix Gold Corp., a Tampa, Florida company.

The ex-President of ICG & ANACS, James Taylor, went from ANACS to ICG back to ANACS then left the TPG business. (That's probably the confusion over the move from ANACS to ICG and back to ANACS, the employees also shuffled between the companies, and ANACS moved from Colorado to Austin, TX then back to Colorado, making the confusion even greater, ANACS had several owners as well, one being AMOS Press. (Trying to keep up with all of this even using Google can be pretty difficult) ICG and ANCS were located very close to each other as well in Englewood, Colorado.

ICG was started because, there was a time in the TPG's infancy, where some dealers were perceived to be getting better grades on their submissions from PCGS and NGC due to who they were and how much they spent on grading coins. (I believed this to be true as well), ICG (Independent Coin Grading) had their submissions sent directly to a third party CPA that anonymize every submission before the graders at ICG ever saw a coin to grade, hence the independent. The CPA was located next door and would receive the coins being submitted, remove any indicator of ownership and place the coins in holders with barcode labels only for the graders to then examine, graded and encapsulated if a grade and authenticity was good, the coins then went back to the CPA for return shipping to the submitter. This was done to even out the grading field at the time and prove that unless the coin was a known rarity (ie: 1804 dollar, there was no favoritism towards any submitter.

A quick story on the Jaffe's whom owned National Gold Exchange, now Phoenix Gold, the TPG mentioned in the article is ICG.

Looks like ICG has finally put up some info about the re-born company listing Mark Jaffe as the President.

Disclaimer:
For the record I have nothing to do with any of the companies above, other than I submit coins to ANACS. I am no longer in contact with my friend Keith Love from High School that started ICG, and haven't spoken to him in over 10 years. This is what I know to the best of my knowledge, I never worked for any of the companies above at any time, nor was an agent for any of them, I am just relaying information I learned from friends I have in the coin business over the years.

I looked at ICG's "About US" page and over on the side was supposed to be messages from people that have submitted to ICG and giving them praises but the second one was from a guy we all know was a grader there. That seems to be a real conflict of interest to be able to give a praise like that to a company when you are working there yourself. We also know this couldn't have been any recent post as this grader is no longer with us. I will say I have purchased a few ICG coins (all classic coins) and I believe they do very well with their grading on the classic coins

Kameron from Utah is not Cameron Kiefer who lived in Thorton, CO and was an ICG grader but is now dead.
