I just found a 1984 U.S penny in my change today.. Checking it at home seeing if it was a "double Ear" A look closer, and I find this... This pic was rotated 180 Degrees. Is this a Rare find?! I Just started collecting a few days ago. There must be over 25+ errors on the penny. I was so excited I forgot to take a picture of the other side of the penny.. il put up if needed! I just found counting 7 dates on the otherside! hard to see, but will try to get camera to get some detail! Anyone have info on this penny?

I see a normal 1984 cent that has been bent, cleaned, pitted, and just outright damaged.

what does this mean is it rare? Its not bent AT all, infact the reverse looks Mint, with dates not seen, and in the side of the penny, I see 1942 I could not find any info this is why I posted here for help :)

bpositive Lets back up a step here. I don't think we are seeing what you are asking about. Quote: A look closer, and I find this. Find what? Quote: This pic was rotated 180 Degrees What does that have to do with your question? Quote: There must be over 25+ errors on the penny What errors do you think you see? Quote: I just found counting 7 dates on the otherside Where do you see these 7 dates? First of all, It would help us help you if you: - posted some good obverse and reverse photos of the coin in question including clear close ups if needed - describe exactly what it is you are questioning Then we might be able to start helping.... Best of luck

The greatest joy of collecting coins is the thrill of the hunt ... and the enthusiasm we show when finding something enjoyable for our collections. Most new collectors exhibit this ... and typically find many 'great things' as they learn the details of the hobby. You coin is alas a normal 1984 LMC ... the 'errors' you see are post-mint damage. I suggest continued learning ... knowledge is the key. Thanks for the enthusiasm. David

And I will add again that the surface of this coin is not original. It is also not mint. It is cleaned. Coins do not magically turn this way. If in any way you "polished it up" to make it look better, that means the coin is cleaned. If you ever do happen to find something that would otherwise be valuable and do this to it, you will ruin the collectible value the coin has. And that is why I am telling you about this.
People who are experienced at collecting coins will NOT fall for even a lightly cleaned coin. They will not buy them. Best thing to learn and know is not to clean coins at all, and only conserve them IF you know very well what you are doing. Otherwise don't mess with them at all.
