I wish I could have taken a picture of this. I was at a local coin show yesterday and one of the dealers showed me something he picked up. it was a 1795 3 leaf dollar in vf-25 from NGC....Nice coin, however where it got interesting was what came with it. The seller included the original receipt of purchase which was dated 07/15/04 and the sale price was $3. The purchase date was not in 2004 but in 1904. I thought this was quite an amazing story. That would definitely not be something I would part with if it were in my family....however these are hard times. I know the dealer told me he'd be passing this one on to his children.

What an amazing provenance, especially to have been preserved this long through what must have been multiple owners. I'd love to have that one.

Having the original 1904 sales receipt is truly amazing. It would be interesting to know what else that particular collector bought way back then and what happened to those coins.
