What about Monarch silver poured bars? I've seen a few of their odd sizes such as 2 and 3 oz's on ebay. How recognized are they?

Jasper Monarch is a big dawg company as far as I am concerned. The old loaf an tombstone bars they make are highly sought after. Sisson on ebay is a member here perhaps with a different name at CCF, an they deal in them via 1, 2, 3, an 5 oz. size....

Again I think the name is Sisson on ebay an that they are a member here, but never the less their buy it nows are the best priced on ebay for the Monarchs....

Thanks Silverhawk74.I've been looking at some of these bars for the last few days but they were selling $10/$15 overspot on ebay but I landed a 2 oz poured bar about an hour ago for $69.00 W/free ship. I've never heard anyone say anything about Monarch on CCF and thought I would ask as I'm fairly new to collecting silver. Thanks again

I will take a nice loaf pour at 69 bucks all day an that is right about right for that size on running auction these days, via 65-70. Buy it now's list as low 75, an up to 125 for the 2 oz. size but of course those guyz are dreaming an rarely sell any minus someone foolish enough to see it an immediately like it, an not calculate simply in their heads that they are paying 60 plus per oz....

If one can't calculate in their heads that they are gettin ripped off on 2 oz. barz, they needs to be findin a new hobby....

Recognized is really considered for the TOP TIER brands that are circulated all over the world....not just a region.

Though monarchy has a nice local small biz operation, that would not be considered in this tier. Think Million+ Ounce Producers in the hands of people in ALL countries where bullion is used/stored. Do they know and own the brand?, is there an open market for that brand? etc.

I'm not an expert to say exactly who is in this class but would think the above scenario is a good start.

American Eagle one oz bars, circa 1981, are going for big bucks on the Bay.

I stopped in today and they weren't busy so I could chat for a while. They have 7 recognized producers...

1.RCM
2.US MintE
3.Engelhard
4.J&M
5.Pamp Suisse
6.Perth Mint
7.China Mint

I then picked up a bunch of little treasures including an Engelhard 1 oz round, although I had to pay a little more for it, $33 cnd. I'll start a new thread with pictures.

Hi Center Pin, any chance the pics are coming soon? I'm still interested in seeing your little treasures, especially some RCM bars. :)
