I just thought I would post this because other then some local deals I have never seen a price this low on a Silver Eagle. And at $579 a roll I'm having a hard time not dumping next years bonus into quite a few of them.. I have currently halted my quest for the coolest silver bar ever made. To focus on a new quest, to add as many ounces of silver as possible, with a focus on SAE. I really like maple leafs but the milk spotting is a bit ridiculous. So for the money I will be paying gold mart an extra $ dime per for ASE vs over RCM products. http://www.goldmart.com/2012-1-oz-a...in-tube.html

Have you considered Austrian Philharmonics? Goldmart has them at $2.09 over spot right now.

It's amazing to think just three years ago I was selling them for $15/ea.
Should have held onto them awhile longer!

Maybe I've been lucky but when I've purchased rolls of maples they have been nice and shiny. Good thing I've been lucky since I like the maples better. $5 coin and 9999 silver.

In this country you will almost always get more $ for a SAE as apposed to a RCM product. You can almost always get at least spot for silver eagles where the guys around here pay $1.50-$1 under. BarryG, I'm gonna shop a couple deals with forum members but for New eagles $2.59 over sounds good. I buy a tube of Phils every year but only a tube and just started the practice last year. Bulk weight I think I will stick with the eagles.

BH1964, You're not the only who sold at $15-16. It was only two rolls, but I made the same mistake.

CCF, Thanks for the deals members, no reason for ebay to get rich off of us:)

Phil Harmonics is something I am seriously considering while silver is low if I can get it together it time.....
High quality Austria silver, no spots under the radar and not appreciated here in the US.....
They are a simple classy design and often well priced cheap....

I would have to agree with you hawk. Phils are beautiful. I have a couple of gold Phils and a tube of silver ones. I actually prefer the silver ones, they show the design better.

At LEAST spot is what I said. Generic rounds/bars are bought here for $1.50 under spot, SAE go for $1 -$2 over if you know where to go. I deal mainly with gold/silver buyers at swap meets, but rarely if ever sell anything other then the junk I don't want. With silver dipping I am adding with all my might.
Philharmonics are cool, not a big fan of the smooth edge though. It just doesn't look right on the coin.
Back over $600 a roll. Managed to add a nice lot of about a kilo of silver last night from a fellow member and I couldn't be happier with the deal.

That is def the case around here too. I have found that just like life this hobby/investment plan requires patiences.I have been a "day late and a dollar short" so many times in the two short years I have been actively collecting/hoarding. I really need to start adding to my gold stash, soon, If it gets in low 14's I think I'm gonna buy some 1 ounce gold eagles.

The big dealers in my locale have no problem with Maples or Libertads, but I agree that the ASE is the safest bet to sell in the US in general terms.
