Sovereign Debt Valued Member Australia 51 Posts	Posted 06/11/2012 09:17 am Although this does have a Gothic portrait of Victoria, this is not strictly a Gothic florin, it is as the seller correctly describes it, the Godless florin. It was godless because it omitted Dei Gratia ("by the grace of God"), was only dated 1849 & was only 28mm in diameter. The true Gothic florin had a diameter of 30 mm and all the lettering on the coin was in Gothic script & the date was rendered in Roman numerals & they were minted from 1851 to 1887.
