Hi Everyone,

I just bought a 2010 Treasures of Australia Gold from ebay. After opened it, I found that the gold nuggets are outside the view window (still in the capsule). I contacted the seller and he said it's actually an error and can sell at higher price.

Is there anybody have the knowledge is that an error? My understanding is it's not, just like something wrong with the package and so on, not the coin itself. However, I do hope it is one. :-)

Thanks.

Hmmm unsure, can you post a picture.
I would think that they were made so this wouldn't happen.
Maybe it has a replacement capsule around it. The capsule is supposed to have a section for the display window indented I thought.

This listing has some good pics

Thanks Australian Coin. I will get pics later.
However, I meant the silver proof coin for gold (not the gold coin).which has 3 Nuggets.

According to the seller (I am not sure is he also a member here, if so, he may make it clearer), a collector opened 100 coins and 3 has 4 nuggets instead of 3, and 1-2 with nuggets outside the view window (mine is in the side without the queen, and can only viewable from one side).

I would send it back. If he truly thinks he wil get a higher prive for that coin then he should be more than happy to take it back.

thanks enworb, he is happy to take it back and there is no dispute between us. However, after had a closer look at the surface, there is nothing wrong so I decided to keep it. Just want to make sure is it an error or not. I don't think so and that's why I put the post here instead of the varieties.
