Hello, My name is Robert and I am addicted to collecting. Does anybody else always look forward to the mail arriving hoping your latest purchase is in the box? Does anybody else want to stop at every coin shop you see when out driving around? Have you ever passed a Pawn shop and wondered if they had something you wanted at a reasonable price? I have and do every day of the week. I can't wait to open the packages in the mail when they arrive, it is like Christmas at least once a week. Whenever I leave the coin shop the proprietor has to clean the glass cases with windex from all the drool I have left there. Sometimes I need a silver fix so bad that I resort to ebay for my fix. Just wondering if anybody else out there is suffering like I am from coin withdrawl....

I'm sorry, sir, our official policy here at CCF is denial. There is no "addiction."

Let's put it this way... My biggest fear with regards to dying one day, is that I won't have enough time to complete some of my date sets! That's it, the biggest fear death holds for me, that's the level of my addiction...

There is no such thing as being addicted to collecting coins. Those are simply just little round peices of metal. Similar to washers. No one is addicted to collecting washers so why would coins have any effect. Saying a hobby of any type is addicting is utterly rediculous. I consider myself an expert on such matters since I go to coin shows about 2 to 4 times a Month. I have piles of coin books and magazines. I have vertually hundreds of thousands of coins myself. I have well over 100 Whitman Albums and mostly full. Also, many other Albums of different brand names. I go to flea markets all the time looking for coins. I have every Red Book ever made from the 1947 to present. With that history, who better could honestly say coin collecting is not an addiction.

Welcome to the club! :)
I am actually mad at my wife right now....because she swaps books off the internet. Right now, she is trading books left and right. Normally, it is ME who gets packages of all shapes and sizes....so, my anxiety goes up when I open the post office box....and then is immediately dropped when I see my wife's name on the package. Nothing like building up hope...and then dashing them!! :)

Quote: that's my permanent remembrance of Bigg Fredd I say we delete the word "slabbed" from the CCF dictionary and always use the word "slobbed" in honor of Bigg Fredd. Oh, and back to the topic, I think I might have a slight obsession with coins to the tune of 3 to 4 Morgans a week (the kind with massive die cracks). If it gets any worse I might have to find a second job to support my habit..
