I got this from my grandfather who served over seas during WW II. It was in a jar with other coins from the 1910's all the way through the 1960's. It looks like its Filipino or Thailand but I am not sure.

I see them (elephants that is) on the ring road (on Koh Samui) during the morning and evening rush hour. On their way to and from 'work' to carry tourists on jungle treks. The sight of them always makes me smile.

bobreilly3: Welcome to the CCF!
I have an obvious cast silver copy of a similar coin, and unfortunately this one looks very similar. Good quality slver, but a poor fake.

I am not sure why such a coin in good quality silver would be faked.
For me, the mystery deepens somewhat.

sel_69l, is there any other reason you believe this may be a fake? Could you send me a picture of the fake you have?
